We are now looking for employees who want to work seasonally from May to December in our restaurant, dining room, and conference. If you can work part of the season, this is also of interest.
The Role
The tasks in this position span a wide range. It varies greatly. As a castle employee with primary responsibility for the dining room & conference at Engsholms Slott, you are responsible for the guest's dining experiences, such as morning & afternoon coffee, lunch, dinner (conference & weekend guests), as well as the conference rooms.
The position is divided into several parts.
Dining Room Work for both conference guests, weekend guests, weddings, and events.
Additionally, some bar knowledge and preferably interest/knowledge in wine and other beverages.
Conference
Our largest guest group is conference guests. You organize and furnish the rooms, set the tables, serve morning and afternoon coffee, lunch, and dinner. Clear and clean up after the guests have left.
Weddings, Events & Parties
We create unique experiences for our guests on perhaps their most important day in life.
Other
The castle is your workplace, and there are many lounges and areas that need love and care, as well as a vacuum cleaner now and then.
The position varies depending on the season and guests. Sometimes the focus is on weekdays with conferences, sometimes weekends with celebrating private guests or foreign summer guests. Occasionally, the castle is booked for large parties, events, and weddings. In December, we welcome guests to our homemade Christmas buffet, and in the summer, holidaymakers enjoy the castle, sea, and park or visit our summer café.
As you understand, you need to have the ability and enjoy keeping many balls in the air.
The work is very varied and partially physically demanding.
You must have experience in restaurants and similar tasks or possess good multitasking abilities to handle several tasks simultaneously.
Hospitality is always at the center, and the guest's experience.
You are a problem solver and often need to think outside the “box”.
Structure is also important in this position.
The position is scheduled for day/evening every day of the week.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Dining Room & Conference
- Planning and setting up conference rooms
- Welcoming guests
- Serving, clearing, and washing conference coffee in lounges
- Setting tables, serving, and washing lunch in the dining room
- Setting tables, serving, and washing dinner in the dining room
- Some bar service of simpler drinks
- Ordering drinks etc.
- Supervision and service to guests in other buildings such as relaxation & pavilion
- Execution of weddings/events etc.
Coordination and Planning
- Planning in collaboration with booking and kitchen
- Daily planning of your department in collaboration with closest colleagues
Qualifications:
- High school education,
- Post-secondary education in hospitality
- At least a few years of experience in restaurants & hotels
- Good computer skills and experience with the Office suite
- Driver's license B is a requirement
Meritorious:
- Beverage education such as sommelier

Conditions
We work with annual working hours. This means that the position is 80% for the entire season. You therefore work full-time during our peak season and have longer periods off during our low season.
The position is currently part-time 80%, but may possibly increase depending on booking levels etc.
You must have a car for personal transportation. This is a requirement.
